Yoga is a Life-Changer! But Do You Know How to Wield its Power?

Yoga: The Unnoticable Life-Changer

Physical exercise is not only about vanity, it is also about taking care of our bodies. Moving the body is one of the most essential factors for good physical and mental health.

Yoga is that little habit that unnoticeably improves our lives if we can master it. It has many benefits for our physical and mental health, but they appear gradually over time. Hence, we may not even realize this is the reason for the improvement in our life quality.

How exactly Yoga changes the BODY?

If practiced daily, the main components of Yoga, stretching and deep breathing, improve blood circulation. This, in turn, ensures delivering more oxygen and nutrients to the cells through the bloodstream. More oxygen and nutrients mean more energy for the cells.

Yoga also activates forgotten or stiff muscle groups in our bodies. In these spots, pain and tension accumulate, and metabolism decreases. Yoga improves the work of all the organs in our bodies, and each pose has a positive effect on a certain part of the body.

How does Yoga improve Mental Health?

That said, it is clear that the benefits of Yoga for our physical health are undeniable, but how does Yoga improve our mental health? This happens on both physical and emotional levels.

On the physical level, the enhanced metabolism — the distribution of more oxygen and nutrients to the brain increases the amount of hormones, such as Serotonin, Dopamine, and Endorphins. As a consequence, we feel much calmer, happier, satisfied, and recharged.

On the emotional level, Yoga enables us to reconnect with our bodies. This way, we regain our confidence that we are in charge of our bodies and our lives. Moreover, Yoga teaches us Mindfulness. While making the effort to maintain a certain pose, we focus on the present moment and our own presence. Through this practice, we can put a hold on the constant issues that run through our minds and gain inner peace.

Briefly listed below are the main benefits of Yoga:

  • Better tonus and energy flow,
  • Refreshment,
  • Reduction of back pain,
  • Relief of muscle and joint pain,
  • Improved sleep,
  • Lighter mood,
  • Relaxation of body and mind,
  • Enhanced stress management abilities.

In the times we live in, more than anything, we need balance in our lives, or, in other words, reducing thoughts about problems while increasing self-care. If you want to go that route, starting with 3-5 yoga poses daily is a good kick-off. There is just one detail: they have to be the right poses with the proper execution so you can wield the power of Yoga and significantly improve your physical and mental health.

Choose the right Yoga poses

If you feel motivated to start, you have two approaches to choose from. Of course, you can pick up some random Yoga Poses from the Internet. But I want to share with you that I have been doing this for years before I managed to create a satisfying Daily Yoga Program. It also took me a long time to learn how to do the poses properly, and doing them the wrong way could do more harm than good. My takeaway was: it is a lot easier, more time-saving, and more effective to use Yoga Program developed and tested by a professional. The reason is that proper Yoga requires two things: one, the right poses for your personal needs, and two, the right sequence of poses.

My favorite Yoga Program focuses on specific needs. It contains 34 individual poses you can choose from, each with a different purpose, like Boat Pose and Sleeping Abdominal to tone your abs and improve digestion; Cobra Pose to reshape your shoulders and de-flab your triceps; Equestrian Pose to strengthen your glutes and shape your butt; Hand to Foot Pose to improve flexibility and gain comfort in your back; and many more.

Besides the individual poses, it provides sequences for a total body workout designed to take 10 minutes a day for fast, effective, head-to-toe Yoga practice. The sequence of the poses you do makes a huge difference. Your body is a combination of muscle groups that need to work in unison. The right pose sequence is important for ensuring safe performance and  gradual warm-up, enhancing the effect and benefit of each pose, and improving flexibility.

This Yoga Program adds explanations for the benefits you get from each pose. It includes the tools you need to use Yoga for improving your physical health, such as step-by-step instructions for each pose so you can be confident you're doing it correctly. On the other side, it offers the resources required to practice Yoga for Mental Health Improvement, such as guidelines for recognizing how each pose feels and reconnecting with your body.
